Alan is managing partner at Greenstein, Rogoff, Olsen
& Co., LLP, a leading CPA firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. His
firm was recently (October 2007) recognized by INSIDE Public Accounting
as one of the Best-Managed CPA firms in the USA. Alan has more than 23
years of experience in public accounting, and works with some of the
most successful venture capitalists in the world, helping to develop
innovative financial strategies for business enterprises.
As a specialist in income tax, Alan frequently lectures and writes
articles about tax issues for professional organizations and community
groups. He also teaches accounting as a member of the adjunct faculty
at Ohlone College. Alan has published several books, including Doing
Business in the United States: Foreign Corporations, Individuals and
Trusts and Fiduciary and Conservatorship Accounting: Duties of the
Trustee, and is a regular contributor to the East Bay Business Times.
Local broadcast and print media often call on Alan to tap his insight
and expertise on tax matters for their financial news coverage.
Currently, Alan serves on President Kim B. Clark’s* Advancement Council at Brigham
Young University – Idaho. He also is a board member of the Washington Hospital Foundation
and is involved with several other community foundations. Alan is a current member
of the Bay Area Council Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America.
Alan earned a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University, and an MBA (Taxation)
from California State University at Hayward. In 2005, Alan was honored by more than
7,000 Bay Area BYU alumni with a Public Service Award, recognizing his public service
advancement and career accomplishments. That same year, he received the Chairman’s
Award from the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.
